New Year, New Goals: Resolutions from Our Platinum Team
As the new year begins, it’s the perfect time to reflect on where we are and where we want to go whether in life, business, or finances.
To kick off the year, we asked our team to share their New Year’s resolutions. Here’s what they had to say:
Jonathan Scott, Managing Director: “My goal is to be more organised and less constantly on the go.”
Clare, Operations Director: “To accept what I can’t control and trust that if something is meant to happen, it will.”
Will Clow, Financial Planner: “This year, I’m giving back to the community by taking part in a charity drive from Northern Ireland to Monte Carlo in an old car, raising funds for a local charity.”
Philip Andrews, Financial Planner: “I want to lose weight and focus on a healthier lifestyle.”
Trevor Johnston, Financial Planner: “I would like to learn a new skill or hobby.”
Johanna Rooney, Financial Planner: “To complete a couch to 5k.”
Michael Geddis, Financial Planner: “My goal is to complete a 10k run by the end of the year.”
Jayne Grimason, Client Relationship Manager: “I want to drink more water and stop saving things for ‘a special occasion’ – every day is a special occasion!”
Helen Vogan, Receptionist: “To drink more water, and to put more effort into making nicer lunches for work.”
Chloe Mack, Marketing Executive: “To slow down and enjoy life’s simple pleasures whether it’s a walk, a quiet coffee, or travelling and experiencing new things.”
Corrine Gorman, Financial Administrator: “My New Year’s resolution is to finish off all the little projects around the house by April so we can get our new boat in the water and go fishing!”
Michael Keown, Financial Administrator: “Not to care as much when Man Utd lose and to spend more time visiting my mum and dad.”
Amy Montgomery, Financial Administrator: “To be more present, appreciate the little things, and remember that comparison is the thief of joy! I’d also like to read more books.”
These resolutions highlight the importance of planning ahead, setting priorities, and staying on track while making time for what really matters – values that are just as important in financial planning as they are in life.
At Platinum, we believe that successful financial planning is about creating a roadmap that balances preparing for the future with enjoying the present. Whether it’s tackling short-term goals, building long-term security, or finding financial freedom, the key is taking that first step.
As you start the year, we encourage you to think about your own resolutions, both personal and financial, and begin turning them into reality.
