Clare McFarlane

Operations Director

Clare has over 28 years’ experience within the financial planning industry. Clare has a strong background in supporting firms to achieve their business plan. Clare’s experience in leadership and operations management helps support the smooth running of the firm, always ensuring that the clients’ needs and expectations are met.

Clare is also a member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and when she isn’t carrying out her leadership role she is currently spending time working towards the Chartered Director Programme.

Day to day, Clare is responsible for the delivery of the firm’s business plan, a key part of which is providing leadership to the whole team. This can involve identifying and supporting with training and development needs, sharing best practice and learning, managing the team’s workload and projects, identifying process improvement areas and generally ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Clare is passionate about employee engagement and promoting talent development through learning and insight to achieve business excellence. As co-founder and co-chair of Women in Banking and Finance for Belfast, Clare is invested in promoting an inclusive culture, and takes a leading role in shaping the diversity agenda locally.

Outside of work

Clare is married and lives locally with her husband, and their two boys.

In her spare time, Clare enjoys supporting the local school’s rugby team. She often spends weekends travelling around with her boys taking them to and from matches but she wouldn’t have it any other way!

Clare also enjoys attending Pilates as well as socialising with friends and taking her dog Baxter for long walks on the beach.

In the quieter moments, Clare enjoys spending quality time with her parents and wider family.
